TOUR PLAN:

DAY 1: BAKU- WELCOME CITY TOUR

• Arrival in Baku
• Transfer from Airport to the hostel.
• 14:00 Hrs check in at hostel
• 17:00 Hrs Assembly at hostel lobby & proceed to Panoramic City Tour:
• Visit to Highland Park-Alley of Martyrs, The National Assembly- also transliterated as MilliMajlis, Flame towers-the tallest skyscraper in Baku.
• Later you will visit Baku Crystal Hall - an indoor arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. Located on the coast of Baku near National Flag Square, construction of the arena began in August 2011 and finished in April 2012—in time for it to host its first major event, the 2012 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest
• Walking through Baku Boulevard which stretches along a south-facing bay on the Caspian Sea. It traditionally starts at Freedom Square continuing west to the Old City and beyond. Since 2012, the YeniBulvar (New Boulevard) has virtually doubled the length to 3.75 km.
• TRANSFER FOR DINNER AT RESTAURANT  by menu AT 19:00 HRS
• Transfer to Hostel at 21:30 Hrs

DAY 2:  BAKU CITY TOUR

• 07:00-10:00 HRS
• 10:00 Hrs Our tour program starts with Old City or Inner City is the historical core of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Old City is the most ancient part of Baku, which is surrounded by walls were well protected. In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
• LUNCH IN  RESTAURANT by menu  AT 14:00 HRS
• 15:30 Hrs After lunch group tour continues with the visit to the charming example of modern architecture. The Heydar Aliyev Center a 57,500 m2 building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan designed by British architect ZahaHadid and noted for its distinctive architecture and flowing, curved style that eschews sharp angles. The center is named after Heydar Aliyev  president of Azerbaijan Republic from October 1993 to October 2003. (Photoshoot outside).

DAY 3: SEHIRLI NAFTALAN SANATORIUM (MAGICAL NAPHTALAN)

• BREAKFAST 07:00-09:00 HRS, check out.

09:00 Hrs Assembly at hostel lobby . Transfer to airport  Naftalan.  Trip to Magical Naphtalan Sanatorium.  

In the 12th century, the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi wrote about Naftalan in his Khamsa. He mentioned that there has been produced oil here and carried with caravans in the territory called Safi-Kurd which is near Naftalan. While passing through Azerbaijan, the European traveler Marco Polo who lived in the 13th century wrote about the therapeutic oil which was produced here in the wells and carried to the other places with camels. Until 1783, the Naftalan oil was extracted from the wells which were dug by hands. In 1890, German engineer and businessman E. I. Yeger began to produce oil in 250 meter depth using commercial rigs. He was astonished with the quality of the oil. There was no fuel fraction in this oil and it was not burning. On the eve of bankruptcy, the German engineer learned to prepare medicines with the help of people there and built pharmaceutical ointment manufacturing factory in Naftalan. Soon his productions started to gain popularity in many places. Yeger kept the making of the medicines as a secret and wanted to create the monopoly of medicines created under Naftalan oil. At the end of 19th and in the beginning of 20th century, Naftalan medicine which was produced in Azerbaijan and sold as a german product had been sold widely in the major cities of the world including London, Hamburg, Cairo and Tokio. The etymology of Naftalan came from naptha which means straining or flowing. That’s how the Medians called it. Naftalan recreation has been officially operating since 1935. Until 1957, the recreation worked as a seasonal resort but after 1957, it began to operate year-round. Naftalan sanatorium-resort community was established in 1982 since the number of beds was increasing year by year. There were 3200 beds in the resort community consist of 6 sanatorium and a resort clinic. During a year, the resort community hosted around 50-70 thousand people from former Soviet Union countries. Musculoskeletal diseases, peripheral nerves, peripheral vascular diseases, skin diseases, gynecological diseases were successfully treated in the resort. Between 1992 and 2005, only Chinar Sanatorium had been operated seasonally. Related with the establishment of new resort centers for the development of businesses, measures have been implemented in Naftalan in recent years. Recreation and health centers like Magical Naftalan which meets the modern requirements and created by the businessmen are being operated in the city of Naftalan.

DAY 4,5,6,7,8,9:  PHYSIOTHERAPY TOUR

• BREAKFAST 07:00-10:00 HRS
• Guests spend their time using healthy therapy at the hotel and overnight in Magical Naphtalan Sanatorium.

One of the health centers providing high level of services for those who came to Naphtalan is Magical Naphtalan Sanatorium. More than 80 diseases are being treated in here. This treatment center has been operating for 4 years: “Seeing the highly effective treatment, the patients who had been here before for treatment prefer to come back again. There are members of most countries among our patients. Patients from Turkey, Russia and Iran are dominated among them. Musculoskeletal diseases, gynecological diseases, male and female infertility and physiotherapy treatments are being carried out in the sanatorium. We can serve nearly 300 patients at once. The patients apply to us mainly in the summer months. Currently we serve about 200 patients. It should also be noted that the number of them is gradually increasing. The medical treatment is being held in a high level in the sanatorium. That’s why the patients who had been treated here leaves the sanatorium with satisfaction”.

Naftalan means health returned to the thousands who seemed to have no hope of cure. Naftalan is a gift of the Azerbaijani land enriched with the "black gold". As the wise men said, it is the arterial blood of the Earth that gives us the power of life. Balneotherapy is provided for a range of urogenital diseases: mineral baths, Naftalan treatment – application, rectal tampons; medical douches (underwater douche, jet douche, circular douche, groin douche, perineum douche); prostate massage, massage of urethra, dilation of urethra, veromontanum cauterization; tamponing of posterior urethra, instillation of medication in the urethra and bladder. Spa and resort treatment means the change of scenery for the patient, rest and exposure to the nature and landscapes of the resort. Fatigue and depression resulting from the exhaustion and daily stresses are indications for the spa and resort treatment in Naftalan. The urological centre features medical technologies for the treatment of erectile disorders by means of special physiotherapy, magneto-laser therapy, electric therapy with anti-inflammatory, stimulating and anesthetic effects, biophysical therapy and so on. Diet therapy, health path and special physio are used to treat male genital ailments in the gym and swimming pool. The climate of Naftalan is favourable for the treatment of cardiovascular illnesses, especially together with Naftalan and iodine-bromide baths and other physiotherapy, which results in high success rate in the treatment of peripheral vascular ailments. Naftalan therapy of joints is a pathogenetic therapy: Naftalan is applied as a part of a combined physical and chemical therapy. Naftalan eliminates inflammation, reduces pain, improves blood circulation, as it impacts nervous system and RES, which play an important role in the immune processes. Naftalan normalizes the synthesis of chondroitin sulfate, stimulates the growth of cartilage cells, i.e. restores the cartilage of the joint. A combined therapy, including Naftalan therapy, massage, physiotherapy and exercises, is the most effective. The treatment reverts pathological processes: reduces muscular spasm, pain, malfunction of joints. It eases movements and reduces pain. In case of scoliosis, a combined therapy including pelotherapy, balneotherapy, hydrotherapy, massage and post isometric relaxation of muscles and physiotherapy is the most effective. Chinar provides all the necessary conditions for the above. In gynecological diseases, Naftalan therapy has an anti-inflammatory, desensitizing and resorption effect; it improves general and regional immunity; it has anesthetic and neurotrophic effect and improves blood circulation in small pelvis. Naftalan can be applied for the treatment of many ENT ailments. The localized application has an anti-iflammatory, resorptive and antiseptic effect. Naftalan and Naftalan based medicines have been used to treat skin diseases for a long time. Naftalan normalizes keratinisation, increases the amount of Langerhans cells in epidermis and evenly distributes them. Local anesthetic effect reduces skin sensitivity, including tactile sensitivity, which reduces itching. Anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, antihistamine and analgesic effect of Naftalan treatment makes it useful for a range of skin diseases. At present, Naftalan is one of the most effective means of treatment of psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis and so on. .
